Our Future Home

The Children’s Museum of Manhattan is currently at capacity at our 83rd Street location Last year, we purchased an historic jewel of a building, 361 Central Park West at 96th Street, that will allow us to expand our exhibition space and serve even more New York City children and families.

The additional space will permit a ‘critical mass’ of immersive and imaginative exhibits, programs and outreach, anchored by scientific research, to engage children ages birth to eight. The new Museum will offer world-class experiences specially designed for children and families to visit, explore and feel part of our great city. We also have the opportunity to preserve and reanimate an extraordinary New York City landmark overlooking Central Park.

The proximity of mass transit offers easy citywide access to the Museum. This is important since many of our visitors come from the borough and the tri-state area. And, given our institutional commitment to childhood health and wellness, the proximity to four nearby playgrounds is a tremendous added benefit.
And we need your help.
